Freelance Korean <> English Translator - Investment Banking
About The Position
TransPerfect is seeking freelance linguists to translate between Korean and English for investment banking materials, specifically market commentary. Linguists prepare and finalize documents for clients, working under the guidance of a manager and in collaboration with Project Managers. The work can be performed remotely anywhere in the world. Applicants should provide a current CV that includes relevant translation and MTPE experience, their proposed translation rate per word, and their MTPE hourly rate in USD. Applicants will be asked to sign a confidentiality agreement and complete translation and MTPE tests at no charge. Only applicants who meet the stated criteria will be contacted.
Requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Korean and English.
- Specialization in investment banking or the stated subject matter.
- Acute attention to detail, spelling, and grammar.
- Ability to maintain professionalism, especially under tight deadlines.
- Meet at least one of the following: a degree in Translation, Linguistics, or Language Studies, or an equivalent degree with significant translation training, from a recognized higher education institution; two years of translation experience and a college degree; five years of translation experience and no college degree; or a translation competence certificate awarded by an appropriate government body.
- Sign a confidentiality agreement and complete translation and MTPE skills tests.
- Submit a current CV that includes relevant translation and MTPE experience and proposed translation per-word and MTPE hourly rates in USD.

Responsibilities
