About The Position

TransPerfect is seeking experienced freelance translators specializing in Medical Benefits to join a dedicated team of preferred language specialists. Translators will support high-quality Medical Benefits translations for clients. The language pair is English into Japanese. The role is freelance and remote, and candidates may be located anywhere in the world.

Applicants must sign a confidentiality agreement and complete free Translation, MTPE, and Proofreading/QM assessments. Applicants should submit a current CV describing relevant Translation, MTPE, and Proofreading/QM experience and proposed per-word rates in USD for those services. Requirements

• Native speaker of Japanese.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Proven experience translating content in the Medical Benefits field.
• Acute attention to detail, spelling, and grammar.
• Ability to maintain professionalism under tight deadlines.
• Meet at least one of the following: a degree in Translation, Linguistics, or Language Studies, or an equivalent degree with significant translation training, from a recognized institution of higher education; two years of translation experience and a college degree; five years of translation experience and no college degree; or a certificate of competence in translation awarded by an appropriate government body.
• Sign a confidentiality agreement and complete Translation, MTPE, and Proofreading/QM tests.

Responsibilities

• Translate content in the Medical Benefits field from English into Japanese.
• Perform MTPE and Proofreading/QM work as evaluated through the application tests.
• Maintain accuracy and quality, including attention to spelling and grammar.
• Work professionally under tight deadlines.
