About The Position
A Surveillance Operator observes casino and property operations using surveillance technology to help protect the company, team members, guests, and assets. The role monitors gaming and non-gaming areas, records activities, and prepares written reports while maintaining discretion and confidentiality. Operators make independent decisions within established policies and procedures and must respond calmly in stressful or crisis situations. The position requires flexible shifts and prolonged sitting in an area subject to variable temperatures.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Skill in developing and maintaining guest relations.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, staff, co-workers, and guests.
- Ability to work in a stressful, high-volume, energetic atmosphere.
- Team-oriented and enjoys working with and assisting people.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Ability to understand commands, questions, and instructions from supervisors and co-workers.
- Ability to work flexible shifts.
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods in close proximity to fellow employees.
- Ability to multitask.
- Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity.
- Ability to distinguish letters and symbols and use basic math.
- Ability to use a telephone and radio.
- Normal vision and hearing range.
- Ability to understand and comply with policies, procedures, the job description, and other instructions.
Nice To Haves
- Prior table games knowledge or surveillance experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Operate all surveillance equipment.
- Make independent decisions using sound judgment and following policies and procedures.
- Monitor asset protection for the casino and guests.
- Monitor security protection for guests, the pavilion, and casino property.
- Monitor table games, slot operations, poker tables, the cage, and count-room activities.
- Monitor non-gaming areas, including exterior perimeters.
- Complete written logs of activities during the shift.
- Prepare written observation and policy violation reports.
- Respond calmly in crisis and stressful situations.
- Keep duties discreet and confidential.
- Perform other tasks that may be assigned.
