About The Position

Requirements

• ASN or ADN and at least 2 years of clinical experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Current unrestricted RN license in the applicable state.
• Multi-state licensure if providing services in multiple states.
• Satisfactory completion of a tuberculosis test.
• Hepatitis B vaccination or a signed waiver.

Nice To Haves

• BSN.
• Experience with IVs.
• Experience with ports, PICC lines, and peripheral lines.
• Medication-mixing experience.
• Titration experience.
• Knowledge of medical insurance terminology.
• Exceptional time-management skills.
• Bilingual English/Spanish skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties within the nurse’s scope of practice, facility policies and procedures, INS standards of practice, and approved facility protocols.
• Administer ordered therapies according to prescriber orders, facility protocols, INS standards, and company policies and procedures.
• Complete the admission process as directed by the Center Director.
• Perform physical assessments on patients as warranted, including new consults as warranted by the patient’s diagnosis.
• Refer to the nurse practitioner on duty for a complete physical assessment when needed.
• Document pertinent data in the patient’s medical record.
• Report significant changes or observations to the Center Director and follow up on identified problems.
• Evaluate patients’ responses to therapy and document findings in the medical record.
• Educate patients and/or family members about the therapy plan.
• Ensure medication orders are complete, appropriate, accurate, and current before treatment.
• Follow applicable state, local, and federal laws and regulations, including HIPAA patient-confidentiality requirements.
