About The Position

The Med-Surg Registered Nurse (RN) delivers nursing care to patients with medical and surgical diagnoses. The role uses organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status, implements clinical nursing interventions, and applies a diverse medical skillset. The RN develops and performs patient care plans to enhance outcomes and ensures a safe, therapeutic environment.

The nurse collaborates with the interdisciplinary care team; collects vital signs; administers IV medications; charts and assesses patient condition; evaluates, updates, and revises care plans; and administers medications safely in accordance with the State of Practice and Mercy Health policies and procedures. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• One year of RN experience.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
• Six months of RN experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
• BLS Basic Life Support preferred upon hire; must be obtained from an approved source before direct patient care. ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support is acceptable in lieu of BLS.
