About The Position

The Med-Surg Registered Nurse delivers nursing care to patients with medical and surgical diagnoses. The role involves assessing patient status, developing and performing care plans, implementing clinical nursing interventions, and helping provide a safe and therapeutic environment. The RN collaborates with the interdisciplinary care team and works to enhance patient outcomes. The position is scheduled for 36 hours per week on days/afternoons at Clermont Hospital.

Requirements

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• One year of RN experience.
• BLS Basic Life Support certification must be obtained from an approved source before providing direct patient care; ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support is acceptable in lieu of BLS.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
• Six months of RN experience in an acute care hospital setting.
• BLS Basic Life Support certification upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient status and condition.
• Provide care to patients with medical and surgical diagnoses.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team.
• Collect vital signs and administer IV medications.
• Understand and complete patient charting.
• Evaluate, update, and revise plans of care to support planned and expected outcomes.
• Administer medications safely in accordance with state practice requirements and Mercy Health policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
