About The Position

Requirements

• Master's Degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant required
• Registered Nurse [RN - MA License]
• Advanced Practice Registered Nurse [APRN] [MA License] or Physician Assistant [MA License]
• Experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant 0-1 year preferred
• Skilled in taking medical histories to assess medical condition and interpret findings
• Ability to maintain quality control standards
• Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
• Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures
• Ability to communicate clearly and establish/maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public
• Qualified in all basic and advanced cardiac life support standards as established by the American Heart Association
• Possess the maturity, self-confidence, and ability to follow complex patient management plans as directed by the attending vascular specialist
• Eligible for state and federally controlled substances registration

• Interest in potentially doing vein procedures such as sclerotherapy or phlebectomies in the long term

Responsibilities

• Triage new and follow-up patients
• Administer prescribed wound care
• Educate patients
• Coordinate the patient’s plan of care and follow-up
• Verify test results
• Maintain the clinical environment and supply of special purchase products and topical medications, as needed
• Obtain patient histories
• Perform comprehensive physical examinations to evaluate vascular patients
• Arrange diagnostic procedures
• Coordinate consultations
• Implement treatment plans
• Communicate with referring physicians
• Provide patient and family education
• Perform complete histories and physical examinations
• Order, interpret, and evaluate appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests
• Develop appropriate plans of care and follow-up based on the outcomes of diagnostic, laboratory, and physical examination findings
• Provide high quality and timely documentation including admission and progress notes, procedure notes, operative notes and discharge summaries
• Perform bedside procedures as are appropriate to the patient population
• Order medications and write prescriptions according to organizational and regulatory policies and procedures
