About The Position

Requirements

• Master’s Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program (MPAS, MHS, or MMS).
• PA certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician’s Assistants (NCCPA).
• Current Ohio licensure.
• ACLS certification.
• Current Certificate to Prescribe.
• A minimum of three years of related experience as a PA.
• Excellent communication skills with both patients and colleagues.
• Computer literacy including Excel, Word and Outlook.

Nice To Haves

• Electronic Medical Records experience, preferably EPIC.
• Experience with, and a strong surgery background.

Responsibilities

• Practice in accordance with the rules adopted by the Ohio Medical Board, the Revised Code and institutional policies and procedures.
• Develop PA role in relation to the specialty population of practice and reflect the scope and standards of their specialty, licensing board, and certifying organization (NCCPA).
• Maintain competence through continuing education and review of practice.
• Function as a practitioner, researcher, consultant, and patient advocate for individuals, groups, and communities.
• Demonstrate skill in applying and modifying the principles, methods and techniques of medicine to provide ongoing patient care.
• Possess knowledge of the professional medical practice being able to give and evaluate patient care.
• Be competent in taking medical history, assessing medical condition(s) of patients, and interpreting medical findings.
• Maintain quality assurance and quality control standards.
• Implement effective communication skills with both patients and colleagues that demonstrate a commitment to consistently providing an excellent patient experience for every patient.
• React calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
