About The Position

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
• At least one year of manufacturing or distribution center experience.
• At least one year of experience with material handling equipment.
• Proficiency with computers and computer-based programs.
• Ability to frequently bend, twist, reach, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds continuously on a daily basis; heavier items require mechanical or coworker assistance.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Must wear required personal protective equipment properly at all times.
• Must be able and willing to wear a respirator.
• Must be able and willing to work varying schedules, which may include nights, weekends, and public holidays.
• Must comply with precautions related to exposure to harmful materials such as lead and fiberglass; periodic blood tests are required to measure lead levels.

Responsibilities

• Transport cells or batteries to circuits.
• Connect cells or batteries to circuits.
• Remove and install charging connectors.
• Fill and level cells with acid during charging.
• Water cells while they are on charge.
• Disconnect cells or batteries from circuits and transport them as needed.
• Burn in or remove forming wire.
• Read and adjust gravity.
• Operate ovens and dry chargers.
• Stack and transport plates.
• Count and record various production records.
• Maintain and clean charging and forming areas.
• Perform daily housekeeping, hygiene, and cleanliness procedures.
• Work overtime as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
