About The Position

Fessler & Bowman, Inc. is a specialty concrete and civil earthwork contractor founded in 1963. Heavy Equipment Operators perform varied tasks to support project completion and contribute as team members in delivering the service customers expect. The role involves operating equipment for earthmoving, pipe installation, and grading, while following company safety procedures and helping maintain equipment, materials, and job sites. Travel to surrounding job sites may be required, with per diem compensation for travel and overnight stays when applicable.

Requirements

At least 3 years of experience with earthwork and civil construction.
Willingness to learn and follow all safety policies and requirements.
Ability to understand English.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
Ability to climb, kneel, bend, and crawl often, and to work on ladders, platforms, and mechanical lifts.
Willingness to travel to surrounding job sites.

Responsibilities

Operate excavators, dozers, and loaders in compliance with company operating safety policies and procedures.
Operate machines efficiently for earthmoving, pipe installation, and grading operations.
Provide recommendations for maintaining and improving environmental performance.
Load and unload equipment from vehicles and trailers.
Maintain, clean, and safely store company equipment and materials and keep the work site clean.
Collect and dispose of scrap, excess materials, and refuse.
Complete required paperwork, reporting, and other documentation.
