About The Position

Safely operates various light and heavy equipment in a hazardous waste treatment processing facility or landfill. The role assists with unloading waste, stabilizing and handling waste, and processing materials and containers for treatment. It also includes sampling treated materials for laboratory testing, loading cleared materials for shipment or disposal, performing equipment maintenance and housekeeping, and carrying out other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Currently hold a 40-hour HAZWOPER certification with an 8-hour refresher, or be able to pass the course upon hire; required only for Environmental Solutions lines of business.

• Knowledge of light and heavy equipment operation.
• Ability to use applicable hand and power tools.
• Knowledge of basic vehicle inspection and maintenance, including checking tire pressure and oil and water levels.
• Accuracy, thoroughness, and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize, stay focused, and handle multiple, diverse responsibilities.
• A valid driver’s license may be required for some positions.

Responsibilities

• Assist in off-loading trucks and unloading waste.
• Operate equipment to stabilize and handle waste.
• Process treatment of materials and containers.
• Sample post-treated materials for testing by a laboratory.
• Load cleared post-treatment materials for shipment to a landfill or disposal.
• Perform general preventative maintenance on equipment and general housekeeping.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
