About The Position
As a Level II Machine Operator, you’ll be part of Swagelok’s manufacturing team, producing fluid-system components that meet high quality standards. The role is suited to an entry-level machinist who is eager to learn, can work independently, maintain production quality, recognize when additional support is needed, and prioritize safety. Tools and gauges are provided. The position offers opportunities to expand technical knowledge and gain experience with a variety of machines and parts in a clean, modern, temperature-controlled manufacturing environment. Comprehensive training supports learning the machines and production processes, with opportunities to deepen machining expertise, learn new technologies, or grow into leadership.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic math skills, including adding and subtracting fractions and decimals.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to learn in a fast-paced environment.
Nice To Haves
- Machining experience or a mechanical background.
- Experience in a manufacturing production environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to work overtime hours as needed.
Responsibilities
- Participate in daily shift start-up meetings and give or receive shift handoff reports.
- Operate and monitor manufacturing equipment according to standard work instructions.
- Follow standard work instructions and quality plans according to specifications.
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring equipment and other inspection tools.
- Monitor machine outputs, identify quality, machining, tooling, and process issues, and escalate them to support associates.
- Complete preventive maintenance and routine machine care.
- Accurately document production activities and maintain manufacturing records.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following safety procedures.
