About The Position

The Material Handler is responsible for the safe and efficient movement, storage, and handling of materials throughout a warehouse or production facility. The role supports daily operations by ensuring materials are received, stored, pulled, and delivered accurately. The Material Handler helps maintain inventory accuracy and production flow while upholding safety and quality standards. This physically demanding role involves working in a manufacturing environment that may include exposure to noise, dust, and temperature variations. It can involve bending, twisting, stooping, pushing, and working at a fast pace. The role requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of work experience in a warehouse setting.
  • Ability to read and write in English.
  • Experience using inventory or warehouse management systems.
  • Basic computer or scanning system proficiency for inventory tracking.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment that may include exposure to noise, dust, and temperature variations.

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift experience and/or certification.

Responsibilities

  • Follow plant safety regulations and OSHA guidelines.
  • Receive, unload, and move materials using manual and powered industrial vehicles, including forklifts and powered tuggers.
  • Operate powered industrial vehicles safely and efficiently.
  • Pull and deliver materials to production lines, workstations, or designated storage areas based on daily schedules or work orders.
  • Scan, tag, and record inventory transactions in warehouse management systems.
  • Inspect materials for damage or discrepancies and promptly report issues to supervisors.
  • Maintain proper inventory rotation (FIFO) as required.
  • Assist with cycle counts, physical inventory, and inventory reconciliation.
  • Collaborate with warehouse, production, and logistics teams to meet operational goals.
  • Maintain the organization and cleanliness of packaging and staging areas according to 5S standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
