About The Position

Requirements

• Current Certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse.
• Heart and Stroke Foundation CPR course at the Heartsaver Plus level.
• Demonstrated knowledge and 2 recent years therapeutic experience within the last 5 years in the field of neurological rehabilitation with acquired brain injury population.
• Demonstrated knowledge and 2 recent years therapeutic experience within the last 5 years with clients who have had a brain injury.
• Demonstrated knowledge in safety procedures/protocols with patients.
• Demonstrated willingness to gain knowledge and acquire skills to develop a higher level of professional expertise in rehabilitation and behaviour management that will promote the development of the Rehabilitation/Seniors Health Program.
• Demonstrated collaborative approach to daily interactions that support respectful and effective working relationships with clients, families, the rehabilitation team and the community.
• Demonstrated sound professional judgment and initiative based on training and experience.
• Demonstrated excellence in communication, interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated team leadership, staff training and mentoring skills to work both independently and collaboratively with minimum supervision.
• Evidence of commitment to continuing education.
• Membership in professional organizations (ie. RNAO, rehabilitation nursing organization).

Responsibilities

• Provision of therapeutic services for clients with Acquired Brain Injury.
• Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary health care team.
• Demonstrate a collaborative approach to daily interactions that support respectful and effective working relationships with clients, families, the rehabilitation team and the community.
• Demonstrate sound professional judgment and initiative based on training and experience.
• Demonstrate excellence in communication, interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrate team leadership, staff training and mentoring skills to work both independently and collaboratively with minimum supervision.
• Gain knowledge and acquire skills to develop a higher level of professional expertise in rehabilitation and behaviour management that will promote the development of the Rehabilitation/Seniors Health Program.
