About The Position

Avita Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Surgery Department at Avita Bucyrus Hospital. The nurse provides direct patient care to pediatric through geriatric patients and addresses psychosocial, physical, and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment. The role communicates with surgeons and anesthesia staff about patient conditions and maintains patient safety and appropriate care until transfer to another unit. The nurse also participates in performance improvement activities. The position is described as casual as needed.

Requirements

Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio.
Current BLS certification.
ACLS certification, or obtain it within 3 months of hire.
Current PALS certification, or obtain it within 6 months of hire.

Nice To Haves

At least one year of operating room work experience.

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care to pediatric through geriatric patients.
Address psychosocial, physical, and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment.
Communicate with surgeon and anesthesia staff continuously and as needed about the patient's condition.
Assess and maintain adequate ventilation, hemostasis, and circulation.
Assess level of consciousness and provide pain management.
Ensure patient safety until transfer to another unit.
Participate in performance improvement activities.
