About The Position

The Registered Nurse provides leadership in coordinating and delivering quality, compassionate patient care. The nurse communicates pertinent patient and family information to the healthcare team, participates in resolving variances from patient goals, and ensures solutions are implemented. The position is on Henry Ford St. John Hospital’s 24-bed 4 East Acute Care of the Elderly (ACE) unit, which specializes in geriatric care and also treats some stroke cases of all ages. Nurses typically care for patients at a 5:1 ratio and receive daily support from Licensed Practical Nurses, Nurse Interns, and Patient Care Technicians. The team emphasizes collaboration and building relationships with patients during stays that are typically at least three days. Training is provided to help nurses succeed in this environment. This is a full-time, benefit-eligible position scheduled for 36 hours per week: three 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, rotating every other weekend and observed holiday.
