Licensed Vocational Nurse I/II/III - Kelsey Seybold Clinic - Urology
About The Position
Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, part of the Optum family of businesses, is hiring a Licensed Vocational Nurse for its Urology clinic. The selected candidate will be placed at LVN I, II, or III based on qualifications and experience. The role provides nursing care in an assigned clinical area under the supervision of licensed medical professionals, with higher levels encompassing the duties of lower levels. The LVN applies clinical nursing knowledge and skills to support patient and family safety and comfort, and prioritizes and organizes care for multiple patients according to legal, organizational, and professional standards. The role is based at one of Kelsey-Seybold Clinic’s locations in the Houston area. The hourly pay range is $20.00 to $36.00 based on full-time employment. Candidates must pass a drug test before beginning employment.
Requirements
- Graduate from an approved vocational nursing program.
- Hold a current and valid Texas LVN license.
- Hold BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
- Have at least 6 months of experience in a clinical area or successfully complete a KSC LVN Residency program.
- Have computer experience.
- Be able to use equipment and related supplies for the selected patient population in the assigned clinical area.
Nice To Haves
- For LVN II: at least 4 years of experience in a clinical area.
- For LVN III: at least 9 years of experience in a clinical area.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to patients in an assigned clinical area under the supervision of a Nurse Supervisor or Nurse Coordinator.
- Apply clinical nursing knowledge and demonstrated skills to ensure the safety and comfort of patients and families in accordance with legal, organizational, and professional standards.
- Identify priorities and make judgments about the basic needs of multiple patients to organize care.
- At LVN II and LVN III levels, perform the duties of the lower-level LVN positions.
