About The Position
East Wind Nannies is seeking a caregiver for a family in Mt. Washington, Pittsburgh, for a six-month position from January 4, 2027, through June 30, 2027. The nanny will care for a 5.5-month-old baby boy while his almost-two-year-old sister attends daycare. The family values intentional childcare, a predictable routine, and creative, age-appropriate activities that encourage play, discovery, and developmental milestones. Prior nanny experience is not required in the job summary, although the requirements section states that a minimum of two years of previous nanny experience is required. The position offers 40 guaranteed hours per week, Monday through Friday. Start times fall between 8 and 10 AM and end times between 4 and 6 PM; the family confirms the schedule on the Thursday before each workweek. The hourly rate is $28. The nanny will also help with bottles, children's laundry, simple meal preparation, dishes, tidying play spaces, and a few light household tasks. Neighborhood walks are encouraged, and occasional library outings are possible if the nanny is comfortable driving.
Requirements
- Standard vaccinations, including an up-to-date flu vaccine.
- Proof of MMR vaccination.
- A driver's license, vehicle, and clean driving record.
- A minimum of two years of previous nanny experience, as stated in the requirements section.

Responsibilities
- Provide attentive, nurturing care for the baby during the workday.
- Maintain a predictable routine for naps, meals, and play.
- Plan and lead creative, age-appropriate activities, including sensory play, songs, and reading, and encourage developmental milestones.
- Take the baby on neighborhood walks and, if comfortable driving, occasional library outings.
- Wash bottles and help with children's laundry.
- Prepare simple meals, do dishes, tidy play spaces, and assist with a few light household tasks.
- Communicate and work collaboratively with the parents.
