About The Position
Avance Care is hiring a Medical Assistant to work closely with providers and help deliver high-quality, compassionate patient care in a busy clinical environment. The role primarily supports one provider and calls for a flexible, adaptable team player who can thrive under pressure while maintaining a patient-centered focus. This is a full-time position with 12-hour weekday shifts and a rotating weekend schedule. Avance Care offers a comprehensive benefits package available on the first of the month following 30 days of employment. Offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of a background check and drug screen. Avance Care is an equal opportunity employer.
Requirements
- At least one year of Medical Assistant experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and integrity.
- Growth mindset.
- Flexibility and resilience.
Nice To Haves
- Preferably hold one of the following certifications: CMA, CCMA, RMA, or EMT.
Responsibilities
- Escort patients to and from exam and treatment rooms.
- Triage patients as necessary.
- Administer vaccines and injections.
- Record patient data before the physician’s visit.
- Assist physicians with examinations and a wide variety of procedures.
- Administer medications.
- Prepare and stock exam and treatment rooms, and order supplies as needed.
- Maintain proper disinfection protocols.
- Complete prior authorizations for medications and diagnostic imaging.
- Phone in prescriptions and distribute medications as ordered by the provider.
