About The Position

Westlake Dermatology has an immediate opening for a Full-Time, Medical Assistant to work with a provider at the Far West office. The schedule will be Tuesday-Friday with Mondays off. The Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting the physician with patient care, including obtaining history, chief complaint, and consents; assisting with cosmetic procedures (including Botox, fillers, etc.); preparing exam rooms; escorting patients to room; preparing them for provider; and assisting in patient education regarding aftercare protocols and what to expect after treatment. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, EHR charting, stocking of rooms, and turnover of rooms. Medical Assistant is responsible for reviewing and managing schedule to ensure appointments are scheduled appropriately and supplies needed for procedure are available.

Requirements

  • High school diploma plus either completion of a college degree or a Medical Assistant program required
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work as a team member in a fast-paced environment
  • Well-organized with attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Empathetic with patient needs and concerns
  • Ability to work well with provider, anticipating their needs in regard to patient treatment
  • Knowledge of medical and skin care terminology
  • Proficient with general computer skills
  • Able to stand for long periods of time

Nice To Haves

  • Prior EHR (EMA) experience is a plus
  • Prior dermatology or plastic surgery experience is preferred
  • Medical assistant certification is preferred
  • 1-2 years of prior experience in a dermatology or cosmetic/surgical clinic setting working as a medical assistant or clinical assistant preferred
