About The Position

This is an exciting opening for a seasoned Maintenance Manager at the 190-room Renaissance Daytona Beach Oceanfront Hotel. The role involves developing, implementing, and managing programs for the operation and maintenance of all equipment, physical structures, and landscaping. The goal is to ensure compliance with corporate/franchise standards, local, state, and national codes and regulations, thereby protecting assets, guests, and employees, while optimizing operations, minimizing expenses, and maximizing customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Previous hotel experience is required.
  • More than two years of post-high school education, but less than a degree from a four-year college.
  • Four to five years of employment in a related position with this company or other organization(s).
  • Advanced knowledge of Building Management/Engineering.
  • Considerable working knowledge of other major areas in the hotel and the skills to integrate and communicate that information.
  • Ability to analyze activities and/or information involving original data manipulation or interpretation to arrive at logical conclusions.
  • Management skills.
  • Ability to provide information and associated services to hotel management and guests.

Responsibilities

  • Execute all required repair and maintenance at the hotel, including plumbing, electrical, mechanical, air-conditioning, painting, and general building maintenance.
  • Develop, recommend, implement, and manage the division’s budget, capital expenditure plan, forecasts, and objectives to maintain a first-class property and meet management expectations.
  • Develop, implement, and manage a maintenance program and negotiate maintenance contracts for the hotel, grounds, and all equipment in compliance with corporate/franchise standards and codes to ensure safety, convenience, and satisfaction, protecting assets and maintaining the property in first-class condition.
  • Develop, implement, and direct all Emergency programs, ensuring equipment maintenance, conducting inspections and drills, ensuring code compliance, training employees, and maintaining accurate records for a safe environment.
  • Develop, implement, and manage an energy conservation program for the property to minimize expenses.
  • Execute manual engineering tasks as needed, based on tickets or guest-related impact items.
  • Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.
  • Participate in task forces and committees as requested.
