About The Position

The Pennsylvania Institute of Technology seeks adjunct nursing instructors for its Practical Nursing program. This is a day program that operates Monday through Friday on a term schedule. The position involves approximately 8–24 hours per week, with instruction in person in clinical and/or lab settings depending on availability; occasional virtual instruction via Zoom may be necessary. Flexibility in instruction delivery is important. The instructor will teach Pediatrics and/or Pharmacology beginning in the Winter 2027 term. The college is a two-year, not-for-profit institution accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education and is committed to promoting a work environment that attracts and retains talented and diverse faculty and staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
  • Active Pennsylvania-licensed registered nurse (RN).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to adapt and remain flexible regarding instruction delivery.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 360 and various learning platforms.
  • Organizational, problem-solving, planning, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in workload.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous clinical educator experience, highly preferred, ideally in pediatrics and pharmacology.

Responsibilities

  • Lecture on practical nursing topics, including Pediatrics and/or Pharmacology.
  • Participate in didactic, clinical, and/or lab discussions.
  • Prepare course materials, including syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts.
  • Evaluate student progress.
  • Collaborate with the Nursing Team to address instructional issues.
  • Plan, evaluate, and revise curricula, course content, course materials, and methods of instruction.
