About The Position

Requirements

• Class-A CDL Holder
• Firsthand Industry knowledge of Flatbed Transportation and Cargo Securement
• Flatbed trucking operations knowledge
• Knowledge of USA 11/14/70 Hours of Service
• Great Communication skills both written and verbal
• High School Diploma/ GED
• 5+ years of experience working in Supply Chain Management, Safety, Operations, Transportation, Cargo Securement
• Must be familiar with Microsoft Office 365, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Word

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of 48’ – 53’ Flatbed trailer sizes
• Recent experience in the Transportation Industry
• Experience as a CMV Division State Trooper or Officer

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise the training of drivers.
• Contact drivers who are intended trainees.
• Council drivers as needed.
• Conduct Smith System training.
• Instruct on Hours of Service compliance, CSA, Entry level training, PPE, FMCSA Regulations FMCSR's, Company Rules & Policies.
• Onboard new drivers.
• Assist drivers in setting up their company apps training.
• Set up hotels.
• Transport trainees to and from drug tests, hotels, trucks, or physicals.
• Provide road training as required per training SOP.
• Report, collect, and complete any required training documents.
• Ensure all trainee evaluations are completed weekly.
• Provide classroom instruction and hands-on training.
• Manage driver trainees in the program.
• Evaluate driver skill levels.
• Instruct driver trainees in proper areas.
• Keep driver trainees on schedule throughout Week 1 and Week 2 of Flatbed Training.
• Train and evaluate drivers on securing commodities such as Shingles, Concrete pipe, Copper Plates, OSB Board (Plywood), Lumber, Slinky rolls (rolled rebar), and Flat steel (chains).
• Provide basic coil instruction.
