About The Position

As part of the Crete United family, Pro Tech Mechanical has proudly served South Texas since 2000. What began as a commercial HVAC service company has grown into a full-service MEP mechanical contractor focused on making buildings more efficient, comfortable, and sustainable. We’re looking for an experienced Commercial HVAC Service Technician who enjoys solving problems, takes pride in quality work, and wants steady, year-round employment with a supportive team. If you’re ready to bring your technical skills to a company that values its technicians, we’d like to meet you. As a Commercial HVAC Service Technician, you’ll diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC equipment for customers throughout the area. You’ll handle complex service work, support larger projects, and serve as a trusted technical resource for customers and other technicians.

Requirements

  • Five or more years of commercial HVAC service experience; seven or more years preferred
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Applicable licenses, registrations, and certifications
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions
  • Professional, customer-focused communication
  • Willingness to help and mentor other technicians

  • Split, mini-split, and multi-zone systems
  • VRV/VRF heat-pump and heat-recovery systems
  • Large commercial rooftop units
  • Water-source heat pumps
  • Self-contained and CRAC systems, including Liebert, Data-Aire, and Stulz
  • Air-cooled and water-cooled chilled-water systems
  • Building automation systems and OEM diagnostic software
  • Reading and interpreting schematics and blueprints

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, service, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC systems
  • Troubleshoot equipment and complete planned maintenance
  • Perform work related to service agreements, quoted projects, and demand-service calls
  • Clearly explain findings, recommendations, and completed work to customers
  • Support and mentor less-experienced technicians
  • Coordinate materials, parts, subcontractors, and workflow for larger projects
  • Document job progress using mobile service and reporting software
  • Follow company safety standards and fleet requirements
