About The Position

The HVAC Technician 1 provides professional, customer-focused service while delivering and installing portable HVAC equipment. The role demonstrates skills in the use, operation, troubleshooting, and repair of rental equipment, and trains authorized operators or customers in safe equipment use. The technician also works primarily in the shop to keep it organized, clean, and safe; learns to check in, clean, and prepare equipment for rental; and supports other technicians on large jobs. The position includes rotating on-call emergency service response, including weekends and evenings.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of experience in a service-related role interacting with customers.
• Basic math skills.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record free from points.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Ability to work some after-hours and weekend shifts during peak times.

Responsibilities

• Communicate professionally with customers, managers, and sales engineers to schedule deliveries, pickups, and service calls.
• Deliver and install rented HVAC equipment and train authorized operators or customers in its safe use.
• Direct customers to sign appropriate paperwork and track equipment serial numbers.
• Troubleshoot the operation, function, specifications, capabilities, and controls of rental equipment.
• Operate the company vehicle safely and follow company safety policies.
• Clean and test returned equipment to ensure it meets operational and appearance standards.
• Complete paperwork for deliveries, pickups, and service calls.
• Install flexible gas hose for propane and natural gas applications.
• Use proper and safe procedures to check gas connections.
• Work with managers and sales engineers to maintain accurate records and tracking of in-stock and rented equipment.
• Keep the shop organized, clean, and safe; learn to check in, clean, and prepare equipment for rental.
• Support other technicians on large jobs.
• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule for emergency service calls on weekends and evenings.
