About The Position

The HVAC Technician 1 provides professional customer service while delivering, installing, and servicing portable HVAC rental equipment. The position demonstrates safe and competent use, operation, troubleshooting, and repair of company equipment, and trains authorized operators or customers in its safe use. The role works primarily in the shop, keeping it organized, clean, and safe; learning to check in, clean, and prepare equipment for rental; and supporting other technicians on larger jobs.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of experience in a service-related role interacting with customers.
• Basic math skills.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record free from points.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must be able to work some after-hours and weekend hours during peak times.

Responsibilities

• Communicate professionally with customers, managers, and sales engineers to schedule deliveries, pickups, and service calls.
• Deliver and install rented HVAC equipment and train authorized operators or customers on safe equipment use.
• Direct customers to sign appropriate paperwork and track equipment serial numbers.
• Troubleshoot the operation, function, specifications, capabilities, and controls of rental equipment.
• Operate company vehicles safely and follow company safety policies.
• Clean and test returned equipment to ensure it meets operational and appearance standards.
• Complete required paperwork for deliveries, pickups, and service calls.
• Install flexible gas hose for propane and natural gas applications.
• Use proper and safe procedures to check gas connections.
• Work with managers and sales engineers to maintain accurate records and tracking of in-stock and rented equipment.
• Participate in emergency service coverage, including a rotating schedule for weekend and evening response calls.
• Keep the shop organized, clean, and safe; learn to check in, clean, and prepare rental equipment; and support other technicians on large jobs.
