About The Position

The HVAC Technician 1 provides professional, customer-focused service while delivering, installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining portable HVAC rental equipment. The role primarily works in the shop to keep it organized, clean, and safe; learns to check in, clean, and prepare equipment for rental; and supports other technicians on large jobs. The technician also trains authorized operators or customers in the safe use of equipment and performs related delivery, pickup, and service-call documentation.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of experience in a service-related role interacting with customers.
• Basic math skills.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record free from points.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Ability to work some after-hours and weekend hours during peak times.

Responsibilities

• Communicate professionally with customers, managers, and sales engineers to schedule deliveries, pickups, and service calls.
• Deliver and install rented HVAC equipment and train authorized operators or customers in its safe use.
• Direct customers to sign appropriate paperwork and track equipment serial numbers.
• Troubleshoot the operation, function, specifications, capabilities, and controls of rental equipment.
• Operate company vehicles safely and follow company safety policies.
• Clean and test returned equipment to ensure its operation and appearance meet standards.
• Complete paperwork for deliveries, pickups, and service calls.
• Install flexible gas hose for propane and natural gas applications.
• Use proper and safe procedures to check gas connections.
• Work with managers and sales engineers to maintain accurate records and tracking of in-stock and rented equipment.
• Keep the shop organized, clean, and safe; learn to check in, clean, and prepare rental equipment; and support other technicians on large jobs.
• Provide emergency service response when on call, including rotating weekend and evening coverage.
