About The Position

The HVAC Technician 1 demonstrates professionalism through positive communication and appearance while providing exemplary customer service. The role delivers portable HVAC equipment to customers and demonstrates the skills needed to use, operate, and repair company equipment. The technician works primarily in the shop, keeping it organized, clean, and safe; learns to check in, clean, and prepare rental equipment; and supports other technicians on large jobs.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of experience in a service-related role interacting with customers.
• Basic math skills.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record free from points.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Ability to work some after-hours and weekend shifts during peak times.

Responsibilities

• Communicate professionally with customers, managers, and sales engineers to schedule deliveries, pickups, and service calls.
• Deliver and install rented HVAC equipment and train authorized operators or customers in its safe use.
• Direct customers to sign appropriate paperwork and track serial numbers.
• Troubleshoot the operation, function, specifications, capabilities, and controls of rental equipment.
• Operate company vehicles safely and follow company safety policies.
• Clean and test returned equipment to ensure its operation and appearance meet standards.
• Complete paperwork for deliveries, pickups, and service calls.
• Install flexible gas hose for propane and natural gas applications.
• Use proper and safe procedures to check gas connections.
• Work with managers and sales engineers to maintain accurate records and tracking of in-stock and rented equipment.
• Provide on-call emergency service and respond on a rotating schedule to emergency calls on weekends and evenings.
