About The Position

The HVAC Technician 1 demonstrates professionalism through positive communication and appearance while providing exemplary customer service. The role delivers and installs portable HVAC equipment, demonstrates its safe use to authorized operators or customers, and troubleshoots and repairs rental equipment. The position works primarily in the shop, helping keep it organized, clean, and safe, and learning to check in, clean, and prepare equipment for rental while supporting other technicians on large jobs.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of experience in a service-related role interacting with customers.
• Basic math skills.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record free from points.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Ability to work some after-hours and weekend hours during peak times.

Responsibilities

• Communicate professionally with customers, managers, and sales engineers to schedule deliveries, pickups, and service calls.
• Deliver and install rented HVAC equipment and train authorized operators or customers in its safe use.
• Direct customers to sign appropriate paperwork and track equipment serial numbers.
• Troubleshoot the operation, function, specifications, capabilities, and controls of rental equipment.
• Operate a company vehicle safely and follow company safety policies.
• Clean and test returned equipment to ensure it meets operating and appearance standards.
• Complete required paperwork for deliveries, pickups, and service calls.
• Install flexible gas hose for propane and natural gas applications.
• Use proper and safe procedures to check gas connections.
• Work with managers and sales engineers to maintain accurate records and tracking of in-stock and rented equipment.
• Provide emergency service response on a rotating on-call schedule, including weekends and evenings.
• Keep the shop organized, clean, and safe; check in, clean, and prepare equipment for rental; and support other technicians on large jobs.
