About The Position

12-hour night shift RN position in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU). Adult acute inpatient setting with a 3:1 nurse-to-patient ratio. Travelers will be assigned to a resource float team and expected to float to appropriate units as needed. Every other weekend and holiday coverage required. No block scheduling. Orientation is 1–2 days. Start required within 2 weeks with active license on file at submission.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year PCU/telemetry experience.
  • Experience with insulin drips, cardiac drips, post-cardiac cath care, and IV starts.
  • Active NY RN license at submission.
  • AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (NIHSS prior to start).
  • Recent Epic experience (within 2 years).
  • Explanation for all work history and employment gaps over 90 days.
  • Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Float to appropriate units as needed.
  • Provide care in an adult acute inpatient setting.
  • Manage a 3:1 nurse-to-patient ratio.
  • Administer insulin drips and cardiac drips.
  • Provide post-cardiac cath care.
  • Perform IV starts.
