About The Position

The General Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating all operations and personnel management within the restaurant. This role is ultimately accountable for the restaurant’s financial performance and ensuring compliance with Duffy’s brand standards, the employment handbook, and health and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Complete knowledge of all expectations of the Manager and AGM/Sr. AGM position.
  • Advanced P&L Involvement, including P&L variance reports and Corp vs. store P&L analysis.
  • Identifying problem cost areas and managing solutions for long-term profitability improvement.
  • Budgeting and forecasting.
  • Advanced food knowledge and recipe compliance, acting as a food cost expert.
  • Develop positive relationships with FOH and BOH staff and managers.
  • Write prep lists and manage Sysco ordering and receiving.
  • Proactively manage FOH and BOH labor.
  • Ensure recipe compliance and knowledge of declining budget.
  • Direct local store marketing initiatives.
  • Prepare for and participate in manager meetings.
  • Create manager schedules.
  • Handle coaching, counseling, and terminations.
  • Conduct AGM, AM, and/or Team player annual reviews.
  • Manage and develop all store level managers.
  • Teach Core Beliefs.
  • Manage HR issues and ensure onboarding compliance.
  • Complete and turn in payroll.
  • Train and mentor all managers.
  • Conduct orientation of all new hourly staff members.
  • Responsible for all FOH training.
  • Complete knowledge of the General Ledger.
  • Knowledge of accounts and approved vendors.
  • Manage bar operations, including liquor inventory and ordering.
  • Maintain a budgeted food and beverage cost.
  • Increase bar sales and produce cost-effective specials.
  • Enter all invoices.
  • Write bartender schedules.
  • Keep marketing material current.
  • Ensure menu spec compliance.
  • Knowledge of Health Inspections and Ecosure goals.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and professional approach to coworkers and customers.
  • Understand Specific Measurable Achievable Relevant Time-bound (SMART) goals.
