About The Position

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program
• Completion of nursing fundamentals with clinical component required
• Willingness to travel between Progress West Hospital and Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital
• Ability to adapt quickly and provide compassionate, patient-centered care in a variety of unit settings
• Initial 3-week full-time training commitment required to support your success in the role before transitioning to the regular schedule.

Responsibilities

• Assists nurse with patient and family education.
• Documents all patient care activities provided with correct medical terminology.
• Acts as 1:1 patient safety sitter as necessary.
• Ensures availability of supplies and equipment to meet each patient's needs.
• Implements direct patient care under the supervision of the nursing team.
• Collects clinical data and information on patients and reports abnormal findings to the nurse.
• Instructs patients in preparations for tests and procedures.
