About The Position
MultiCare is seeking a staff Registered Nurse to join its hospital-based team. The role uses specialized nursing knowledge and training to provide care through a multidisciplinary approach. Nurses at MultiCare participate in clinical decision-making, communicate with colleagues, receive support for professional development, and contribute to the future of nursing at the organization. The position is based at MultiCare Good Samaritan Hospital, a 388-bed acute-care hospital serving Puyallup and East Pierce County. The hospital includes a Family Birth Center, Level III Trauma and Neonatal ICUs, a Level I Trauma Rehabilitation Center, a Children’s Therapy Unit, and a 24-hour Emergency Department. The position is listed as 0.9 FTE on the day shift; the schedule is to be determined. The compensation range is $56.15–$98.83 USD. Compensation depends on factors including skills, experience, certifications, and education. For positions covered by a union contract, pay reflects the applicable pay-scale step based on experience.
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington State or a Multistate License endorsement (MLS).
- Current BLS certification.
- Two years of experience in an acute care setting.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) preferred.
Responsibilities
- Organize patient care by prioritizing, delegating, delivering, and evaluating care on an ongoing basis.
- Use nursing education and experience to provide care through the nursing process and in accordance with hospital policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Collaborate with the nursing team to improve quality of care and patient experience and reduce costs.
- Foster a learning environment for patients and families, nursing staff, and other members of the healthcare team.
- Advocate for ethical, holistic care that promotes the autonomy, dignity, and health of patients from diverse ethnic and social backgrounds.
