About The Position

As the Field Service Technician, you will perform preventative maintenance, start-ups, and repairs on generators; including automatic transfer switches, diesel, and gaseous engines. Promote safe and efficient operation of duties. Frequent travel is required for this position. Lead on-site service, troubleshooting, repair, and overhaul of engines and genset systems, including electronic and mechanical components. Commission, operate, and instrument genset systems; record and analyze test data. Inspect and document parts, perform field failure analysis, and prepare technical reports to ensure quality and prevent future issues. Maintain detailed records, logbooks, and work estimates; manage parts, tools, and vendor sourcing for field service. Provide technical support and training to customers and service personnel; contribute to product development and service documentation.

Requirements

  • 2 years mechanical or technical trade school with 3+ years of experience in field service with mechanical or electrical troubleshooting experience or a related field.
  • In lieu of degree, 5+ years of experience in field service with mechanical or electrical troubleshooting experience or a related field.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident.
  • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S without sponsorship.
  • Unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating machine shop equipment and using measurement/testing tools for mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Experience in the gaseous engine service industry, including testing of gaseous engine components and rigging of weights up to 1 ton.
  • Experience writing technical reports and service letters.
  • Strong knowledge of electronics.
  • Ability to read blueprints and electronic schematics.
  • Hands-on experience with internal combustion engines, MTU engines, and electronic engine controls.
  • Ability to travel up to 80%.
