About The Position

Abode Services, one of the Bay Area's largest and most impactful nonprofit organizations dedicated to ending homelessness, is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to join our team! The Contracts Manager provides a high-level oversight to programs across the agency by assisting with budget monitoring, creating customized reports pertaining to housing and service delivery outcomes, initiating the development of improvement work plans, and informing the leadership team of performance deficiencies. The contracts manager maintains familiarity with department processes and plays an essential role in establishing communication channels throughout the agency including finance, human resources, information technology, and program. This role supports the agency’s mission by continuing program funding and seeking opportunities to enhance program performance to serve the most vulnerable members of our communities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required in business administration, finance, social services, public policy, or a related field. Relevant experience and proven track record can be substituted for a degree.
  • Substantial experience in business administration, finance, social services, public policy, or a related field or a combination of higher education and experience.
  • Use of personal vehicle and proof of a valid and current California Driver’s License and current insurance along with a clean DMV record required.
  • Excellent verbal & written communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well independently and collaboratively with teams.
  • Possess an understanding of and practice cultural sensitivity through open dialogue and self-exploration with diverse groups, while providing direct services.
  • Experience with outreach and providing clinical services to individuals in field settings i.e., encampment, streets, psychiatric hospital, etc.
  • Knowledge of Psychiatric Disorders as well as the ability to implement the following evidence-based models: Harm Reduction, Psychosocial Rehabilitation, Strength-based Case Management and Motivational Interviewing.
  • Ability to build supportive and respectful working relationships with individuals diagnosed with a mental illness that instills hope and promotes self-determination, with a sensitivity to and understanding of the special needs of the homeless.
  • Experience in effectively intervening in crisis situations, with de-escalation techniques.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, systems, and platforms.
  • Ability to learn and use required mobile devices and business-related applications.
  • Outstanding communication skills and high degree of emotional intelligence, cultural humility, with a proven track record to build and maintain effective relationships with a wide variety of internal and external contacts.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a complete and accurate tracking system of all contracts.
  • Ensure that new contracts are fully routed to all agency departments for successful launching.
  • Monitor and communicate program performance analysis to senior leadership related to outcomes and financial spending plans.
  • Establish gold standards and best practices for improvement work plans related to administrative and financial outcomes of program initiatives.
  • Develop monthly program performance snapshots and assessments pertaining to programmatic goals and agency-wide benchmarks.
  • Ensure programs remain in compliance with the contractual agreements and record-keeping documentation requirements for federal, state, and other local funding sources.
  • Identify areas for improvement and share successful techniques to strategically support complex and high-level program operations.
  • Gather information needed to implement the latest programs. Coordinate information sharing and implementation between agency departments and schedule time-sensitive deadlines to ensure completion of each phase.
  • Provide technical assistance to agency departments to better support data collection, data management, compliance, finance, and administrative infrastructure as needed to meet respective program requirements.
  • Manage and assist with renewal contracting processes and ongoing submission deadlines.
  • Maintains familiarity with program metrics, funding regulations, financial reporting obligations, and knowledge of best practices related to maintaining policies and procedures.
  • Maintain contract records and prepare reports for the leadership team.
  • Other duties as assigned.
