About The Position

DORN Companies is seeking a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) to join their team on a part-time, 1099 contractor basis. This role is ideal for professionals looking to supplement their income with flexible, gig-based work, requiring approximately 5 hours per week. The LMT will collaborate with client site management and safety teams to evaluate risks, deliver ergonomic training, and coach employees on injury prevention and pain reduction strategies. Work settings can range from industrial environments to private office spaces, with all therapy supplies provided. The position involves conducting ergonomic assessments, educating employees on proper body mechanics, and delivering hands-on deep tissue therapy.

Requirements

  • Ergonomic experience required
  • State Licensure (e.g., Athletic Trainer (AT), Physical Therapist (PT), Occupational Therapist (OT), Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA), Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA), or Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT)). Other relevant credentials and experience may be considered.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with detailed reporting.
  • Active Professional Liability Insurance will be required upon hire.
  • Must meet drug screening standards and pass a background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Certificate, Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Additional continuing education is beneficial.
  • 2-4 years of experience in injury prevention or in specialty field, preferably in an industrial setting.
  • Strong background in hands-on therapy and coaching in body mechanics.
  • Interest in or experience in ergonomics desired but not required.
  • Technology savvy to utilize DORNs reporting systems and infield technology when required.
  • Comfortable working autonomously while fostering strong relationships with clients and colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Guide employees on proper body mechanics and self-care techniques to prevent workplace injuries.
  • Collaborate with site management and safety teams to assess risks and implement injury prevention strategies.
  • Provide deep tissue therapy to enhance employee performance and well-being.
  • Maintain detailed records of work and progress utilizing DORNs systems and processes.
  • Gather feedback on the impact of services delivered through employee surveys.
  • Communicate with client site teams and DORN management to support injury prevention initiatives weekly and based upon service, monthly.
