About The Position
Certco, Inc. is hiring a local Class A CDL Driver to deliver grocery orders to independent grocery stores throughout its distribution network. The role supports warehouse operations and helps keep local communities supplied. Drivers are home every day, with no overnight routes, and work a Friday–Monday schedule of four 10-hour shifts. The position also includes daily overtime opportunities. The driver operates tractor-trailers and pallet jacks, loads and unloads pallets and freezer tubs, performs equipment inspections and trailer hook-and-drop tasks, and complies with Department of Transportation requirements. Drivers also respond to customer inquiries and perform other related duties as assigned. The role requires a valid Class A CDL, insurability for auto insurance coverage, and at least 12 months of tractor-trailer experience.
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL.
- Must be insurable for auto insurance coverage.
- Ability to lift 80 lbs.
- Knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations and hours-of-service requirements.
- Skill in operating pallet jacks, forklifts, and tractor-trailers.
- Ability to pay close attention to detail and coordinate various activities simultaneously.
- Ability to communicate courteously and professionally with customers, co-workers, and business contacts.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Minimum of 12 months of tractor-trailer experience.
Responsibilities
- Operate tractor-trailers safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload pallets and freezer tubs from and onto trucks.
- Operate pallet jacks safely and efficiently.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections.
- Perform trailer hook-and-drop tasks.
- Comply with all Department of Transportation requirements.
- Respond to customers’ inquiries about their orders.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
- Maintain regular attendance and comply with the Company Attendance Policy.
