About The Position
A major carrier is hiring solo and team OTR dry van drivers for its nationwide fleet. Drivers average 2,800–3,200 miles per week and $2,300 or more in weekly pay. Pay is listed as $0.70 per mile for solo drivers and $0.90 per mile for team drivers; the posting also mentions $0.75 per mile on all loaded and empty miles. Drivers may be eligible for an increase of up to $0.05 per mile after six months. Pay is 1099. Freight is 99% no-touch, with drop-and-hook and live-load/unload work. The carrier operates primarily in the Midwest, South, and Southeast, with no deep Northeast service. Drivers may be out for 19 days followed by three days off, or four weeks followed by seven days off. Equipment includes late-model automatic Volvo, Freightliner, Kenworth, and Peterbilt trucks equipped with refrigerators. One-day orientation is in Miami, Florida, with travel provided.
Requirements
- Must be at least 24 years old.
- Must have two years of OTR tractor-trailer experience within the past three years; training does not count toward this experience requirement.
- SAP drivers must be on Step 6 with RTD testing completed, or must have completed the program.
Responsibilities
- Drive solo or as part of a team on OTR dry van routes.
- Transport freight, including drop-and-hook and live-load/unload assignments.
- Complete routes primarily in the Midwest, South, and Southeast regions.
