About The Position
AZZ Inc. is hiring a Class A CDL Driver for its Houston facility. Reporting to the Plant Manager, the driver will deliver steel products safely and on time while maintaining positive customer relationships. The role involves daily routes only; no over-the-road (OTR) driving.
Requirements
- A valid, non-suspended Class A CDL is required.
- 2–5 years of commercial driving experience is required.
- Experience operating a flatbed trailer truck is required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Nice To Haves
- Experience hauling steel or industrial machinery.
Responsibilities
- Drive a tractor-trailer combination to transport and deliver goods to and from designated locations.
- Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment, including gas, oil, water, tires, lights, and brakes.
- Obey traffic laws and follow established traffic and transportation procedures.
- Load and unload trucks, vans, and/or automobiles.
- Report mechanical problems encountered with vehicles.
- Present bills and receipts and collect payments for delivered or loaded goods.
- Verify inventory load contents against shipping papers.
- Turn in receipts and money received from deliveries.
- Maintain vehicle logs, cargo records, billing statements, and other required records.
- Read maps and follow written and verbal directions.
