About The Position
Canton Local School District is hiring a Food Service Cafeteria Worker for 5 hours per day, effective for the 2026–27 school year. The employee reports to the Food Service Director and prepares food according to USDA standards. The role requires working well with others, learning and carrying out food-service tasks, maintaining a good attendance record, and adjusting work schedules to accommodate early and late lunch scheduling.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work well with others, as judged by the Food Service Director.
- Physical ability to lift a minimum of 36 pounds.
- Strength and dexterity to perform all labor tasks connected with the job.
- Ability to properly prepare food according to USDA standards.
- Successful experience working in food service.
- Ability to work independently and learn required skills for the position.
- Good attendance record.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Qualifying score on the basic and specific skills test.
- Meet all mandated health requirements.
- Record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment.
- Compliance with drug-free workplace rules and board policies.
- Ability to flex working schedules due to early and late lunch scheduling.
