About The Position

The Food Services Department anticipates multiple openings for 3-hour Cafeteria Workers during the 2026–2027 school year. Workers perform duties needed to serve breakfast and/or lunch, including handling food orders, operating a register, maintaining required food-service records, and ensuring proper food temperatures during holding and service. The role requires courteous customer service to students and staff, the ability to work well with others in a fast-paced environment, and flexibility to come in early or stay late occasionally for additional hours.

Requirements

• Ability to work well with others and provide courteous customer service to students and staff.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, take multiple directions, and follow through on assigned tasks.
• Ability to maintain required records and ensure proper food temperatures.
• Ability to lift and put away food orders.
• Ability to operate a register or learn quickly.
• Strong cooking background or willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Serve breakfast and/or lunch and perform all duties required for meal service.
• Maintain records required by State and Federal Departments of Agriculture, such as production records, temperature logs, and daily paperwork.
• Ensure proper temperatures are maintained while food is held and served.
• Lift and put away food orders.
• Operate a register, or learn to operate one quickly.
• Work cooperatively and provide courteous customer service to students and staff.
• Occasionally come in early or stay late and complete a voucher for additional hours.
