About The Position

Toms River Regional Schools’ Food Services Department anticipates openings for 5-hour Cafeteria Workers at High School South during the 2026–2027 school year. The position supports the preparation and service of breakfast and/or lunch and requires courteous service to students and staff, accurate recordkeeping, food-temperature monitoring, and handling food orders. Workers may occasionally need to arrive early or stay late, with additional hours documented by voucher.

Requirements

• Work well with others.
• Work in a fast-paced environment, take multiple directions, and follow through on assigned tasks.
• Be able to lift and put away food orders.
• Possess a strong cooking background or be willing to learn.
• Be able to come in early or stay late occasionally; additional hours require a voucher.

Responsibilities

• Provide courteous customer service to students and staff.
• Maintain records required by the State and Federal Department of Agriculture, including production records, temperature logs, and consolidated daily paperwork.
• Ensure proper temperatures are maintained while holding and serving breakfast and lunch.
• Lift and put away food orders.
• Perform duties required to serve breakfast and/or lunch.
