Cafeteria Worker - Catering (Effective 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR)
About The Position
Prepares and serves refreshments and meals to adults as part of the Food Services catering team. May complete required food safety logs and records. Position hours are adjusted throughout the year based on customer participation volume. Work may involve occasional lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 35 pounds as a regular part of the job. This position is effective for the 2026–2027 school year and is based at the Tucson Unified School District Administrative Building, 220 W 6th Street. It is 0.75 FTE, six hours per day, on a nine-month work calendar. Positions working fewer than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits. Internal candidates will transfer at a rate commensurate with their bargaining unit language. The district’s posted rates include community-approved override increases guaranteed through June 2031; salary details are referenced on the Employee Agreements Webpage.
Requirements
- Six months of food service experience.
- Demonstrated math and reading skills at the fifth-grade level.
- Verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written, graphic, and oral instructions.
- Before starting, complete an FBI fingerprint background check.
- Before starting, provide proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.
