About The Position
The Teacher Assistant assists teachers in performing their classroom teaching responsibilities. This position is based at Miller Elementary School in the Valencia and Camino De La Tierra area and is effective for the 2026–2027 school year. It is a 0.5 FTE position, working 4 hours per day on a 9-month work calendar. Positions working fewer than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits. The posted rates include community-approved override increases guaranteed through June 2031.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Complete an Arizona Department of Education-approved academic assessment test, or have an associate’s or higher degree, or have completed two years (60 semester-hour credits) of post-high-school general education studies.
- One year of experience working with youth.
- Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
- Before starting, submit a copy of a diploma, transcript, or test results.
- Complete an FBI fingerprint background check before starting.
- Before starting, provide proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.
