About The Position
Bates Air Conditioning is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join their Houston team. The ideal candidate will have strong AP experience, enjoy organized processes, and be looking for long-term stability with a respected local company. Bates Air Conditioning has a strong reputation in the Houston market for quality HVAC service and dependable customer care, built over 60 years.
Requirements
- 2+ years of Accounts Payable or Accounting experience
- Strong data entry accuracy and attention to detail
- Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office experience
- Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced office
- Professional communication skills
Nice To Haves
- Experience in HVAC, construction, plumbing, or service industry
- NetSuite or ERP software experience
- Month-end close experience
- Bilingual Spanish/English
Responsibilities
- Process vendor invoices accurately and timely
- Review invoices for approvals, coding, and supporting documents
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Process ACH payments, online payments, and check runs
- Maintain vendor files and records
- Reconcile company credit card statements
- Assist with month-end close tasks
- Improve AP and billing workflows where possible
