About The Position
Turner Industries is a fully diversified industrial contractor that provides responsive, innovative solutions to increase plant production, reduce costs, and prevent shutdowns in industries such as petrochemical, refining, energy, and pulp and paper. Headquartered in Baton Rouge, LA, Turner Industries has over 20,000 employees across the United States and is recognized as a top industrial contractor. This specific role is for an experienced Auto/ Diesel Equipment Mechanic for long-term nested maintenance at a site in the Texas City, TX area. The successful candidate will have experience working on heavy equipment, gas/diesel engines, and hydraulic systems, as well as smaller equipment like golf carts and tractors. A TWIC card is required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- 5+ years of experience with diesel/heavy equipment repair
- TWIC Card
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
Nice To Haves
- Post-secondary certificate or degree in engineering OR training as a mechanic is a plus
Responsibilities
- Perform electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical repairs as well as preventative maintenance
- Troubleshoot issues with diesel engines
- Determine what parts and tools are necessary to make repairs
- Complete shop paperwork
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
