About The Position

Requirements

• Passion for working with young children.
• At least 18-years-old for Assistant Teacher and 21 for Lead Teachers.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience working in licensed childcare.
• Ability to pass background checks & health assessments.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. for child safety and emergencies.
• CDA, TCC, TCD, Paraprofessional Certificate, Associates Degree based on position.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment.
• Create an engaging classroom where children can learn, play and grow.
• Support children’s social and emotional development.
• Foster a love of learning through lesson plans.
• Build strong partnerships with families through daily app updates and personal discussions.
• Establish positive relationships with families, teachers, and school administrators.
• Assist the director in engaging with families to recruit children for the Summer Transition Program, emphasizing parental involvement, small teacher-student ratio, and the benefits of the program.
• Assist families in navigating the transition to the upcoming school year (Georgia’s Pre-K or Kindergarten) to ensure children are ready to start the new school year.
• Provide education (training), community resources relevant to family needs, and opportunities for families to connect through weekly program activities.
• Offer and host a minimum of one parent/adult workshop or family engagement activity weekly.
• Manage communication to parents/families.
• Collaborate with teachers to create opportunities for families to participate.
