About The Position

Apple Montessori Schools is seeking a Teacher Assistant to work with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers at its Shrewsbury, New Jersey location. The position works Monday through Friday, 1:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The Teacher Assistant works closely with Lead Teachers to support children as they explore, grow, and develop independence in a nurturing Montessori environment. The role involves providing warmth, encouragement, and guidance as children try new experiences, form friendships, and build confidence and curiosity.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain it upon hire.
• A genuine love of children.
• Physically able to kneel, bend, squat, lift, push, pull, and carry children.
• An understanding of health and safety guidelines.
• Capacity to multitask and function in an ever-changing environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe, clean, and engaging learning environment for all students.
• Collaborate with the Lead Teacher to support and implement lesson plans.
• Maintain accurate student records and assist with family communication.
• Encourage positive self-image while supporting individuality, independence, and creativity.
• Model appropriate social behavior and actively engage with students.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, trainings, and mentorship programs.
