About The Position

Apple Montessori Schools is seeking a Teacher Assistant to work with infants, toddlers, and preschool children in a nurturing Montessori environment. The assistant works closely with Lead Teachers to support children as they explore, grow, and develop independence. The role involves providing warmth, encouragement, and guidance as children try new experiences, form friendships, and build confidence and curiosity. The position is located in Shrewsbury, New Jersey, and is scheduled Monday through Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The stated salary is $17.00; no pay period is specified.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain it upon hire.
A genuine love of children.
Physically able to kneel, bend, squat, lift, push, pull, and carry children.
Understanding of health and safety guidelines.
Ability to multitask and function in an ever-changing environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Ensure a safe, clean, and engaging learning environment for all students.
Collaborate with the Lead Teacher to support and implement lesson plans.
Maintain accurate student records and assist with family communication.
Encourage positive self-image while supporting individuality, independence, and creativity.
Model appropriate social behavior and actively engage with students.
