About The Position

Responsible for a variety of tasks including, but not limited to: prompt and courteous service to all guests, daily store paperwork, addressing safety and maintenance issues, inventory duties and the recruiting and training of new employees. The Assistant Manager is responsible for the efficient and profitable operation of the facility during an assigned shift or in a manager’s absence.

Requirements

  • Team building, management and good communication skills are necessary.
  • Ability to effectively and positively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to guests and other employees in the organization in the English language.
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend and speak simple instructions, short correspondence and memos in the English language.
  • Ability to accurately add, subtract, multiply and divide, calculate percentages and discounts.
  • Must be able to understand and perform cash and inventory control procedures and basic accounting functions.
  • Valid Texas Driver's License and TABC license.

Responsibilities

  • Continuously work to maintain and improve image, profitability and efficiency of facility and employees.
  • Handle guest complaints and problems.
  • Consult with manager concerning disciplinary action and promotions. Assumes immediate responsibility to correct infractions and provide direction.
  • Provides guest service in keeping with the operation standards of the company.
  • Uses cash register and charge card machines to total guest purchases quickly and efficiently. Sells and redeems lottery tickets. Sells money orders.
  • Stocks and rotates merchandise on shelves, in coolers, display cases and freezers, counters or tables. Arrange displays to promote sales. Stamps prices on merchandise when necessary. Receive vendors 1:1 per company policy.
  • Accountable for accurate and responsible handling of all moneys received and disbursed during a respective shift. Prepares required forms and reports for cash and inventory control during shift.
  • Understands, operates, cleans and maintains the facility and all its equipment in a safe and efficient manner in keeping with the operating standards of the company.
  • Prepares and records all payroll and human resources information accurately and timely. Complies with employee and guest safety regulations. Understands all general rules, company operating standards and policies.
